Coast Revitalization
Project COAST REVITALIZATION (EC initiative EQUAL Phase I). The purpose of this project is to support access to work for the disadvantaged (the disabled, prison inmates, drug addicts, the over 40, immigrants) in the five coastal provinces of Tuscany. 94 organisations were involved in a partnership including the provincial authorities of Livorno, Pisa, Lucca, Massa Carrara and Grosseto.
Principal activities:
training of three new recognised professions for accompaniment of disadvantage people into work: Psychosocial Equalization Tutor, Job Facilitation Tutor, Animator of the Labour Market (profession recognised by the Tuscan Region)
work placement of 225 disadvantaged people with 3/6 month internships in the five provinces. 56 internships were organised in the province of Livorno (21 psychically, mentally disabled and drug addicts, 11 prison inmates and 24 people over 40). Many of these obtained long-term contracts.
Comparison at a transnational level through two partnerships; with Denmark and Germany regarding immigrants, with France and Spain on job placements.
