Senior@work (Art. 6 of the European Social Fund)
The objective of this project is to promote work opportunities based on knowledge and to increase the employment rate of unemployed elderly workers who risk being excluded from the labour market. This will be done by formal and non-formal training in order to retrain and motivate the elderly through diversity management it also hopes to avoid the stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination that are often present within companies. The project is based on individual freedom of choice and prolonging one’s working life in line with personal aspirations and needs. This will be done by: awareness raising and involvement of the local players and companies to obtain recognition for the potential and professional skills of older workers, the planning and provision of training packages and on-the-job training for employable older workers by including them in state and private companies and in some cases giving support for the setting up of a business, comparison and transnational exchanges.
