ADO (Azienda Orientata alla Donna)

Financed by the Tuscan region in the ROP Ob. 3 Measure E1 to promote experimentation of a gender trademark in quality certification. Its aim is to reduce the discrimination which is the cause of the low number of women in the labour market in the Livorno area and offer female workers the chance to reconcile work and home life, progress in their careers and have true contractual equality. Following an analysis of certification practices used in some co-operative companies in the province of Livorno a gender model was built on the basis of V.I.S.P.O. (Valutazione Impatto Strategico Pari Opportunitą, [Evaluation of the Strategic Impact of Equal Opportunities promoted by the Ministry for Equal Opportunities) guidelines and after a comparison with the best European practices. These same co-operatives tested these opportunities on their own female workers. ADO was implemented in partnership with Efeso and support from: Provincia di Livorno, the Provincial Commission for Equal Opportunities, Livorno Councillor for Equal Opportunities, CGIL, CISL and UIL [Trade Unions] of Livorno, LegaCoop Toscana.
